Proto-neutron and Neutron Stars

چکیده
It has been shown that effective chiral hadronic models can satisfactorily describe nuclear matter, properties of finite nuclei as well as the structure of neutron stars1. While most of the approaches are based on variations of the linear sigma model or its non-linear realization, in the approach discussed here the scalar sigma meson serves to split the nucleon and its chiral partner (particle with opposite parity), while in the chirally restored phase both baryonic states become degenerate but not massless. The presence of the chiral partner allows to have a bare mass term m0 in the Lagrangian density in such a way that it does not break chirality because the physical fields in this case are a mixture of the fields of the particles and their chiral partners2,3,4.

Spin and Isospin Asymmetry, Equation of State and Neutron Stars
In the present work, we have obtained the equation of state for neutron star matter considering the in uence of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin state. We have also investigated the structure of neutron stars. According to our results, the spin asymmetry stiens the equation of state and leads to high mass for the neutron star.
متن کاملDifferent Magnetic Field Distributions in Deformed Neutron Stars
In this work, we review the formalism which would allow us to model magnetically deformed neutron stars. We study the effect of different magnetic field configurations on the equation of state (EoS) and the structure of such stars. For this aim, the EoS of magnetars is acquired by using the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) method and employing the AV18 potential....
متن کاملForty Years of X-Ray Binaries
In 2012 it was forty years ago that the discovery of the first X-ray binary Centaurus X-3 became known. That same year it was discovered that apart from the High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) there are also Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs), and that Cygnus X-1 is most probably a black hole. By 1975 also the new class of Be/X-ray binaries was discovered. After this it took 28 years before ESAs INTE...
متن کاملHydromagnetic instabilities in proto–neutron stars
The stability properties of newly born neutron stars, or proto–neutron stars (PNSs), are considered. We take into account dissipative processes, such as neutrino transport and viscosity, in the presence of a magnetic field. In order to find the regions of the star subject to different sorts of instability, we derive the general instability criteria and apply it to evolutionary models of PNSs. T...
متن کاملFormation of an Evanescent Proto-neutron Star Binary and the Origin of Pulsar Kicks
If core collapse leads to the formation of a rapidly rotating bar-unstable proto-neutron star surrounded by fall-back material, then we might expect it to cool and fragment to form a double (proto)-neutron star binary into a super-close orbit. The lighter star should survive for awhile, until tidal mass loss propels it toward the minimum stable mass of a (proto)-neutron star, whereupon it explo...
متن کاملConvective instability in proto–neutron stars
The linear hydrodynamic stability of proto–neutron stars (PNSs) is considered taking into account dissipative processes such as neutrino transport and viscosity. We obtain the general instability criteria which differ essentially from the well-known Ledoux criterion used in previous studies. We apply the criteria to evolutive models of PNSs that, in general, can be subject to the various known ...
